Vial has collaborated with Blue Note legend Joe Chambers, Billy Hart, Billy Harper, Peter Bernstein, Ingrid Jensen, Malika Tirolien (Bokanté/Snarky Puppy), Dezron Douglas, Ethnic Heritage Ensemble, Danton Boller (Roy Hargrove Quintet), Bassekou Kouyate and many others.
His original music draws inspiration from the jazz tradition, his South American heritage, as well as African and European art music. His trio concerts feature a mix of his originals and jazz standards by Ellington, Monk, Coltrane, Shorter and others.
Audiences the world over have been captivated by Vial’s melodicism, deep sense of groove and swing, and the risk-taking, dynamic interplay of his trio.
